Renaming QVS price file to TBC (if you currently use QVS price file)


On 1st April 2014, QVS has changed company name to “The Beauty Collective”. Consequently, the QVS price file has been renamed to TBC, and the prefix on the manufacturer product codes has changed from ‘QVS’ to ‘TBC’. All other product details remain unchanged (including GUIDs).


In the Retail program, the QVS file name should be EDITED using the instructions below:

(DO NOT use F10 Other – Delete in the edit price list screen)


1) Edit the file name:

    a) From the main menu of Retail, select Stock Control, Price Lists Sell-Check, Maintain Price Lists

    b) In the Select Price List screen, recall and select the file name QVS

    c) In Price List Name (yellow box), change the name QVS to TBC. Select F12 Accept Details

    d) A warning box will appear “The price list name has been changed” Press Y to continue. Press <Esc> once to return to the Price Lists menu.


2) Download the TBC file:

    a) Select menu option Check/Download price lists

    b) Select F4 Check internet. Wait for the list to download

    c) Place a tick in the box to the left of file name TBC (probably in green text)

    d) Select F7 Download Price List. The file will download, and the file name will turn blue with an ‘*’ beside the active date

    e) Click on OK when finished, and stay in the price lists downloads screen


3) Activate the TBC file:

    a) Still in the downloads screen, select F2 Maintain Price List

    b) Select F7 Report Change and F8 Report New as per your normal process

    c) Select F9 Update Prod - a warning appears. Press Y to continue. (At this point the prefixes on the manufacturer product codes will change automatically). A prompt to produce price labels for PLU changes may appear, if labels are required, say Y

    d) Select F12 Accept Details twice, then press <Esc> 2 times to return to the main menu

    e) If the “PLU Changes” prompt did appear, go into Label Jobs to print the new PLUs


4) Maintain Supplier changes:

    Changes will also be required in Maintain Supplier (Stock Control, Maintain Suppliers, Recall and select QVS):

  • Supplier Name – should be changed to ‘The Beauty Collective’ - this will also change (automatically) in the (QVS/TBC) order type when edited
  • Prefix to Strip - should be changed to ‘TBC’


5) Other product maintenance that may be required:

    Depending on how TBC products are organised in the pharmacy database, consideration may need to be given to changing one or more of the following fields: Department, Manufacturer, Catalogue, Reprice Method (these may be done through Maintain Products in       Bulk). 

    NOTE: The Price List in the order type and Std. Pricelist on the stock cards will automatically change from QVS to TBC.
