Sometimes a report shows products are: NOT IN DEPARTMENT or NOT IN GROUP.
Find Products not in Department
To find these products, from the main menu:
- 2 Stock Control, 3 Stock Maintenance, 1 Maintain Products in Bulk.
- Tick the ‘None’ box next to Dept.
- Optional: to reduce the list, type “365” into ‘Sold Within’, or tick ‘In Stock’
TIP: You can generate the list multiple times with different options set like above, to maintain smaller lists of products. - F12 [Accept Details]
The resultant list of products should all be assigned a department.
- F2 [Edit List], E [Edit list Item by Item]
- Select a product from the list, then F2 [Edit Prod]
- From the Department field, select an appropriate department, F12 [Accept details]
- Repeat steps 2 & 3 until you are finished with the list, or run out of time.
- F12 [Accept Details] twice from the list when complete
NB: If you were not able to update all products in the list, that is fine, the products missed will re-appear next time you generate the same list.
Finding Departments not in a Group
Because products are not directly associated to Groups we need to produce a list of all departments, to review their assigned Group column.
From the Main Menu:
- 6 Reports, 4 Audit/Utility reports, 3 General lists, 3 Department
- F4 [Pdf File], F10 [View Pages] to review the list on screen, F12 [Print]
Take note of all departments with a dash ‘ – ‘ in the group column, then:
From the Main Menu:
- 2 Stock Control, 3 Stock maintenance, 5 Maintain departments
- Select one of the departments with a missing group from the list
- In the group field, search for an appropriate group or F3 [Add] a new one whilst searching.
- F12 [Accept Details]
