When considering Eftpos solutions for your business you have 3 choices: Integrated, Interfaced or Standalone.

Integrated:

Key features

  • Eliminates re-keying, reducing errors, less time spent processing a transaction
  • Integrated is a TWO-WAY integration. No staff intervention is required as Eftpos sends an automatic Accept/Decline response back into Toniq POS
  • On-screen POS display shows what is displayed on the Eftpos PinPad
  • Reduced “clutter” around the POS leaving more room for “impulse buy” displays
  • Eftpos receipts print out on the Toniq receipt printer, so only the PinPad is required
  • ‘Integrated’ requires Toniq registration and incurs a monthly support fee

Integrated Eftpos solutions supported by Toniq

Interfaced:

Key features

  • Eliminates re-keying, reducing errors, less time spent processing a transaction
  • Interfaced is a ONE-WAY integration. Staff intervention maybe required to tell Toniq POS of the Eftpos terminals response (Accepted or Declined)
  • Eftpos receipts print out on the Eftpos terminal’s printer, it does not use the Toniq receipt printer. So terminal with printer and PinPad (sometimes optional) is required
  • ‘Interfaced’ requires Toniq registration but has no monthly support

Interfaced Eftpos solutions supported by Toniq

  • Sektor Verifone VX (Paymark) range
  • PosLink (Eftpos NZ)

Standalone:

  • Standalone Eftpos does not integrate or interface to Toniq in any form
  • Staff must rekey every transaction value into the Eftpos terminal
  • Staff intervention is required to tell Toniq POS of the Eftpos terminals response
  • Contact your normal Eftpos hardware terminal supplier for equipment and information

Can we use contactless card Eftpos terminals with Toniq?

Contactless Eftpos ability is dependent on the Eftpos terminal hardware & software and your contract with Eftpos acquiring service provider. As Contactless is a function of your Eftpos solution, once enabled by the acquirer, it should work with Toniq regardless of the interfaced or integration option configured.

Note: Contactless Eftpos can also be called PayWave, PayPass, Tap & Pay, Tap & Go, etc.
Contactless Card service can incur additional charges. So we suggest you check with your Eftpos provider for further details.

Who should I contact about my Eftpos?

You should have an Eftpos solutions provider already, where you either purchased or lease the terminals. This company should be able to provide you with your current terminal “sunset date”, and provide appropriate replacement options.

What is the terminal “sunset date”?

Sunset dates provide an end of life date for a terminal. In other words, a terminal will become obsolete on the sunset date and will need to be upgraded. It is important to note that you run the risk of no longer being able to process electronic transactions should you continue to operate an out-dated terminal.

How do I know what my current Eftpos configuration is with Toniq?

At Toniq we can tell you if your store is currently Integrated, Interfaced or standalone and when possible (& details have been provided previously) we may have a record of your existing Eftpos setup. If you are not sure please contact the Toniq Support office, either by phone or email.
